to China News, Web-based Yahoo is the leading portal in Greater
China. Internet research specialist Iamasia released figures over February and
for the first time also its Great-China top-10 property list. Yahoo web-sites
attracted 52.8 percent of all home Internet users in Mainland China, Hong Kong
and Taiwan, while favorite Sina ranked second with 45.0 percent. In total, 8.7
million visitors clicked on the Yahoo sites in February. In mainland China,
Yahoo still retains the fifth position, but Iamasia Director Steve Yap expects
that with the improvement of connectivity in China, the popularity of
non-Chinese sites might also improve. Iamasia also noted the expansion of
