RAILROAD RIDE CLOSES UNTIL '87.(Show)

The Delaware & Ulster Rail Ride, a popular tourist attraction in Arkville, has been derailed by soaring liability insurance rates, according to ride management.

The last train leaves today, but the tourist railroad expects to be back on track for the 1987 season.

Trains are expected to run according to schedule this weekend, with the last excursion pulling out of the Arkville Depot at 4 p.m. today.

The final run will be made by the "Red Heifer," a 1928 Brill diesel locomotive.
